She has raised funds for projects including primate conservation, health, architecture, pro-bono law work and the Student Community Fund. Helen previously worked in publishing, specialising in the sale of non-fiction books. Subjects here ranged from military history and weighty biographies to film, cookery and humour. She enjoys the similar variety she meets in the different projects associated with her fundraising work.
Cathy Bedford
Cathy enjoyed a ten year career at BBC television in London researching and directing documentaries focussed mainly on heritage, architecture and the arts. On moving from London to Bristol she developed her interest in this subject area by undertaking freelance work addressing the problems involved in the reuse of historic buildings – this included research to support HLF conservation plans, writing funding bids, options and feasibility studies, funding appraisals and community consultation. Cathy is currently developing the funding aspect of this work with Development Partners in researching new ways in which grant dependent organisations can become more self sufficient. | In our communities
Practising what we preach, DP contributes to its communities in a variety of ways. We are delighted to be in the 4th year of our sponsorship of the Association of Independent Museums, making a contribution towards the Annual Conference. In the Oxfordshire village where we are based, we have supported the publishing of a Parish Conservation Plan and the local Church restoration appeal. Judy Niner is a Director of the trading company of the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, a Trustee of the Waterways Trust, and a member of the Shadow Board of Cogges Manor Farm Museum in Oxfordshire.
